Pregnancy Complications - Baby

Think about your Baby

I am a very fearful person, and considering that the most important thing in my pregnancy was the health of my baby, I was very insistent on asking my doctor to perform all necessary tests to make sure that my baby was ok. I bought all the medications that she recommended me. Fortunately, everything went well with no complications till birth.

I believe that learning about common pregnancy complications and conditions can leave us better informed and equipped on how to deal with them in pregnancy.

Some complications of pregnancy, like anemia, can easily be prevented with a balanced diet and some vitamins and minerals, like folic acid and iron.

Some women may experience cholestasis, which will cause you a very severe itching in late pregnancy, and it can lead to serious pregnancy problems, including fetal distress and even stillbirth.

Bleeding in pregnancy sounds scary, isn’t it? It may happen during the first quarter, but it could not be a sign of trouble. In fact it is common to hear women saying that they have vaginal bleeding when they are indeed pregnant. However, if you have vaginal bleeding during the last quarter, could be a symptom of placenta previa, it should be attended immediately by a doctor.

One of the pregnancy complications that are considered very dangerous for mothers, is the ectopic pregnancy. This pregnancy problem is rare and is not viable, but it could happen. This is a complication in which the fertilized egg is implanted outside the uterus.

Premature labor is another problem that can happen in your pregnancy. You may experience early contractions before week 37. Your doctor may put you on bed, at least until week 37, which is not very pleasant, apart from taking medication to stop contractions.

There is one complication of pregnancy which is the saddest thing that can happen to a woman, miscarriage. This condition is the loss of pregnancy before week 20.

Final Thoughts

My sincere recommendation, it is very important that you visit your doctor regularly; he or she normally recommends several tests to identify, if any, problems in pregnancy. Do not forget to make your first medical appointment as soon as possible, strictly during your first trimester of pregnancy.

During the first trimester pay close attention to symptoms of pregnancy, some of them may be considered abnormal symptoms, and should be treated immediately.

Your pregnancy is a gift from God, and you must live it as something natural. Obviously if you feel some kind of abnormality in your pregnancy, you should take immediate action, do not put your baby on risk. Just pick up the phone and talk to your doctor, or ask your partner, husband, or a relative to take you immediately with your doctor.
